Our client, the Prince Edward Island Business Women's Association (PEIBWA), is currently seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual to lead the Association as the Executive Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of the association in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.To be considered for this position, you must have the ability to think creatively to successfully lead and motivate growth within the organization; a proven track record of excellent communication skills within various environments; strong business acumen; entrepreneurial spirit; and the ability to adapt to situations as they change.In the daily direction of the association, primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Business counselling to members and community outreach, specifically navigation on strategic planning, marketing, financial management, human resources, operations, exporting, etc.;Organization growth. Specifically, participate with the Board of Directors in developing a strategic vision and operational plan to guide the growth of the organization;Provide clear and concise communication to Board of Directors, act as a professional advisor to the Board of Directors, and serve as the staff liaison to Board committees, as appropriate.Fundraising leadership in special events and in all fundraising efforts including capital, major gifts, corporate, foundation, government, and individual giving.Referral services including mentoring support and direct referrals that help direct through government and non-government programs for business. Financial planning and preparation of the Annual Budget for the Executive Board of Directors approval, identifying and accessing other potential funding, and initiating and executing fundraising activities.Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization's community profileEducational program planning and coordinating a series of education sessions for women in business on topics as identified by members of the Association.Develop Public Relation policy for the Association, subject to the Executive Board of Directors? approval, conduct print and broadcast media interviews, make public presentations, develop brochures for media distribution; represent the Association at all public functions; and write all Press Releases and Director?s Letters.Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, politicians, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organizationIdentify, assess, and inform the Board of Directors of internal and external issues that affect the organizationFoster effective teamwork between the Board and the Executive Director and between the Executive Director and staff. Qualifications: Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/ voluntary organizations;Communicate effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.Adaptability: Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, versatile and/or tolerant in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.Behave ethically: Understand ethical behaviour and business practices, and ensure that own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.Build Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.Creativity/Innovation: Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities.Focus on member needs: Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters.Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities Consideration will be given to those applicants with proven leadership capability combined with business/entrepreneurial experience.How to ApplyApplications will only be considered if submitted in the manner specified below.
