Director of Culinary Development in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI and another in Jamestown, ND, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head Office is in Dieppe, NB and sales locations in Toronto, Montreal and Boston. The Cavendish Culinary Creation Centre opened in 2009 and is a research facility engaged in the development of new products for Cavendish Farms. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creative development of the Cavendish Farms product portfolio. Working closely with the Manager of Product and Business Development and the Vice President of Research and Development, the Director of Culinary Development will also use his or her culinary expertise and experience to lead development efforts of new and innovative menu solutions for our foodservice customers. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, ?Can Do? attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications: Applied Degree from a recognized institution in Culinary Operations with experience or additional diploma in Research and Development; Chef designation through a certified body; Membership in Research Chef?s association and/or experience in a variety of senior culinary roles in foodservice industry; 10 years or relevant work experience; Proven track record in the development of new and unique products; Strong communication and presentation skills; Excellent attention to detail; Strong time management skills; Ability to work independently and as part of the team; Key Responsibilities: Provide culinary leadership to Cavendish Farms in the development of new products based on the needs and capabilities of Food Service and QSR kitchens, and meeting the needs of consumers in the retail consumer products market; Developing new custom menu solutions for customers through the Cavendish Ideation process; Develop and leverage the activation between the CCCC staff, Holland College research staff and teaching chefs and the student body; Assist the marketing and sales department in various ways: food styling for photography, regular updates on culinary trends for the sales and executive team, meeting with customers, leading an internal forum on innovating in culinary for the future; Design ways to display new products (i.e. plate presentations); train customers and sales and marketing groups on these different ways to display products; Participate in ongoing development by attending seminars and shows related to the development of culinary capabilities for the company.If you are interested in applying for this career opportunity, please apply by clicking Apply Now Listing originally posted at
